History:
Since ancient times, the bark of this tree has been used in Africa as an aphrodisiac incense, especially among the Bantu peoples. It is possible that the ancient Egyptians may have known about and even imported the bark through trade relations with western Africa. In Cameroon, this jungle tree has long been esteemed as an aphrodisiac and stimulant.
